"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, with Degeneration-X, beat the Undertaker
when The New Age Outlaws and Los Boricuas attacked the Undertaker, who had the
match won, before Kane came out to clear the ring before chokeslamming the
Undertaker into the casket and locking it. (20:37)
- Paul Bearer and Kane take the casket down the aisle. Kane uses an axe to
chop some holes in the casket and poured gasoline over the casket. Kane sets the
casket ablaze. Later, officials manage to out out the fire and open the casket
only to find scraps of the Underataker's clothes inside. A booming voice then
says, "Kane, until our paths cross again, I will never rest in peace." (More or
less)
ROYAL RUMBLE 1999
24 JANUARY 1999, Arrowhead Pond, Anaheim, California
- The Big Bossman beat Jesse James with the Sidewalk Slam. This match was
originally supposed to be for James' WWF Hardcore Title.
- WWF INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH
Ken Shamrock beat Billy Gunn by submission, with the Ankle Lock Submission, to keep
the title. Val Venis came out, when the referee had been knocked unconscious, to
give Shamrock a DDT but Shamrock managed to kick out when Gunn went for the pin.
- WWF EUROPEAN TITLE MATCH
X-Pac beat Gangrel, with the X-Factor, to keep the title.
- WWF WOMEN'S TITLE STRAP MATCH
Sable beat Luna by touching all four corner turnbuckles to keep the title. Luna was
originally dragging Sable around as she touched each turnbuckle but Sable was
touching the turnbuckles at the same time. This frustrated Shane McMahon who argued
with the referee while an obsessed Sable fan ran it to nail Luna to allow Sable to
touch the last turnbuckle.
- WWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE I-QUIT MATCH
NO TEAM CORPORATE AT RINGSIDE, NO DISQUALIFICATION, NO COUNTOUT, NO KNOCKOUTS, NO
STOPPING OF MATCH FOR EXCESSIVE BLOOD LOSS
"The Rock" Rocky Maivia nailed Mankind with a steel chair repeatedly until Mankind
said "I Quit", thus winning the title. The match spilled to the outside as the two
brawled down the aisle, used a ladder and fought on the balcony. Mankind was then
knocked about 15 feet off the balcony and onto the electrical circuit table,
knocking out the power in the arena temporarily. Shane McMahon tried to stop the
match but the Rock resisted. He then handcuffed Mankind in the ring and gave him
the People's Elbow onto a chair on his head, busting him wide open. He then kept
hitting him with the chair. Mankind just said, "You'll have to kill me". The Rock
continued nailing Mankind with the chair down the aisle until he finally gave up.
A doctor came out with a stretcher but Mankind insisted on walking out as a man.
- ROYAL RUMBLE
WINNER : Vince McMahon
1 1/2 minute intervals. Austin immediately went to work on Vince. They brawled back
through the crowd and the lobby before entering the restroom where Team Corporate
ambushed Austin. Austin later had to be taken away in an ambulance while Vince
returned with Shamrock to join the commentary booth. Mabel took Mosh's place after
injuring him and threw several superstars out. Finally, Undertaker and the Ministry
of Darkness captured Mabel for their next sacrifice, loading him into a hearse.
Kane was clearing house when orderlies came out with a straight jacket to take him
back to the Insane Asylum so Kane elminated himself andd escaped through the crowd.
Austin returned in the ambulance and tried to get Vince but Team Corporate
intervened. Chyna came out and went straight after Mark Henry. Austin finally
cleared the ring while Vince begged him not to do anything to him. Austin threw him
into the crowd, hit him with a chair and threw him back into the ring. McMahon hit a
low blow but Austin hit the Stone Cold Stunner. The Rock then came out to taunt
Austin who went after him and got eliminated by Vince.
