The Texas rattlesnake is undoubtedly the meanest and toughest SOB in the business. I have to admit that I was shocked when he first arrived under the guise of the Ringmaster. I mean, I have followed his career since he first teamed up up "Flyin" Brian Pillman to form the Hollywood Blonds in WCW. The man was now sporting a whole new look and attitude and, quite frankly, I LOVED IT!
In lieu with his new persona, SCSA went on to challenge Bret "The Hitman" Hart, bad mouthing him and even refusing to back down from Bret despite losing almost every match they were in, especially the match at Wrestlemania XIII when he bled and was knocked out before he would even consider submitting to Bret's Sharpshooter. Talk about working your way up!
Despite this, even I could not have fanthomed his phenomenal rise to superstardom after "dropping" his manager "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, and his Ringmaster gimmick to go "Stone Cold"! Here was a man who truly did not care about what the fans thought of him, and so came about the two finger salute, but still managed to achieve overwhelming popularity (much like the Undertaker in his early days). SCSA treats everyone equally ....... get in his way, and taste the "Stone Cold" Stunner. No matter who you are, from WWF owner Vince McMahon to Commissioner Slaughter to Chyna, just line up to get knocked down!
If you still doubt this man's success, take a look at his credentials since entering the WWF in 1996.
And the best thing is that he has only been around for such a short time! Watch him in action and you will understand his overwhelming popularity. A definite candidate for the WWF Hall of Fame. And that's the bottom line, 'cause Stone Cold said so!
- WWF World Heavyweight Title - 1 time
- WWF Intercontinental Title - 2 times
- WWF World Tag Team Title - 2 times
- 1996 King of the Ring
- His AUSTIN 3:16 T-Shirts have become the biggest selling piece of merchandise for the WWF, outdoing even Hulk Hogan

| "STONE COLD" STEVE AUSTIN |
| ORIGIN OF AUSTIN 3:16 |
It come about during the a Pay Per View about a year and a half ago where he wrestled Jake "The Snake" Roberts, and Jake was giving religious testimony to everyone and did a religious interview beforehand. So, at King of the Ring after Austin beat him he had told him afterwards, "You sit there and thump your Bibles and say your prayers and it didnt get you anywhere! You talk about your Psalms and talk about John 3:16. Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!" |
