  1. On 26/03/81, Perro Aguayo beat Gran Hamada in a tournament final to become the first WWF Light Heavyweight Champion.

  2. On 17/06/87, Villano III beat Perro Aguayo in a rematch to win the title which had been vacated after the last time the 2 had met on 03/05/87.

  3. On 16/06/95, Aero Flash beat Fighter to win the title which had been vacated in January 95 when Villano III was stripped of the title after he jumped to PROMELL.

  4. On 05/08/96, The Great Sasuke beat Samurai in the 2nd round & Ultimo Dragon in the final of the J-Crown Tournament in Tokyo Japan, to become the octuple crown champion.

  5. On 05/11/97, the WWF forced Shinjiro Ohtani to vacate the title.

  6. The WWF held a tounament to crown the Light Heavyweight Champion, with the finals held on 07/12/97 at In Your House XIX : Degenaration X. Here are the results of the tournament :
