REMARKS :
- On 06/11/83, Jake Roberts wins the Georgia-based NWA National Television Title
from Ron Garvin in Atalanta, GA, and was recognized as the NWA World Television Champion
after March 1983.
- On 17/06/84, the title was immediately held up when it was discovered that Jake Roberts
had used a foreign object. Ron Garvin won the rematch by countout.
- Recognition of Ron Garvin's claim to be the NWA World Television Champion was
withdrawn in April 1984.
- Dusty Rhodes won the Mid-Atlantic Television Title by beating Tully Blanchard on
16/03/85 in Greensboro, NC, and was recognized as the World Television Champion in April
1985.
- Dusty Rhodes was stripped of the title due to his inability to defend it due to
injury. The finals of the tournament to determine the next Champion was held on 04/01/86
in Charlotte, NC, Arn Anderson beat Wahoo McDaniel to win the title.
- On 27/11/86 at Starrcade 1986, Tully Blanchard beat Dusty Rhodes in a First Blood
Match to win the title.
- On 26/11/87, in Chicago, IL, Nikita Koloff beat Terry Taylor to unify the UWF
Television Title.
- On 23/07/93, Sting pin The Great Muta to defend his title but tapes showed that Muta
had got his shoulders off the mat in time so the title was declared vacant. On 03/09/89
in Atalanta, GA, Muta beat Sting to win the title.
- From January 1991, the title is exclusively known as the WCW World Television Title
after the NWA stopped operating as an organization.
- On 27/04/92 in Atalanta, GA, Barry Windham beat Steve Austin in a best of three
falls match to win the title.
- On 02/09/92 at Clash of the Champions XX, Ricky Steamboat beat Steve Austin in a
no-DQ match, with a flying bodypress off the top rope, with Paul E Dangerously locked in
a cage suspended above the ring.
- When Scott Steiner went ot the WWF in November 1992, he was stripped of the title.
On 02/03/93 in Macon, GA, the tournament final was held to determine the new Champion.
Paul Orndorff beat Erik Watts to win the title.
- On 14/06/98, at The Great American Bash, Booker T beat Fit Finley for the title after
earning the title shot following a best of seven series against Chris Benoit (which he
won 4-3), with the final match being held earlier that same evening.
- On 10/08/98, on Nitro, Chris Jericho beat Stevie Ray to win the title. Ray had an
official written approval letter from Booker T (who was injured) to defend the title on
his behalf.
